Jayroe Litho was started by John Jayroe in 1971 as a lithographic “prepress” service to printers. Starting in an old frame house with one Robertson camera, John shot negatives, halftones and did four color separations on the camera.  After one year, Bobby Pierce joined the company to do all the “stripping”. Stripping is taking the negatives and halftones and arranging them in order and registering them properly for printing plates to be burned for the printing press.

In 1981, Jayroe Litho moved out of the old house and into a new office. In early 1990, Jayroe Litho moved into “desktop publishing” with the purchase of our first Macintosh and an Agfa Imagesetter. The camera services and stripping were still available; however, the industry was moving towards electronic negatives and stripping.

In the spring of 2001, again changing to keep up with the newest technology, Jayroe Litho purchased our first Ryobi printing press. The Ryobi 3404 DI was the first of its kind set up in the United States. The offset printing press digitally imaged the plates directly onto the press. This eliminated the need for negatives, stripping, plate making and hanging the plates onto the press. The Japanese based company chose Jayroe Litho to set up its’ first press at our location due to our extensive prepress knowledge and experience. Jayroe Litho helped set up all the templates, color settings, curves, etc. for all future Ryobi 3404 DI’s that were sold. In December of 2001, we purchased our first HP Indigo press to help compliment the Ryobi and to provide full color, SWOP approved proofs.

In 2010, Jayroe Litho changed it’s name to Jayroe PRINTING as we are a full service printing company.  Also, we have full bindery services, a UV coating machine and large format printing.

The Fall of 2016 provided a big change for the company as it purchased its own building in Farmers Branch. The new facility provides a better layout and workflow for all work coming through with new meeting rooms, design area, poster room and a much larger press room. Since 2009, the company has been operated by John’s five children who have all worked in the family business for most of their lives.
